We’ve been telling an extraordinary story at Otahuna ever since 1895. Hence, we’re absolutely thrilled to share the newest page-turner in our library, the release of Chapter One Gin.

Produced from a unique blend of botanicals harvested entirely from Otahuna’s century-old gardens and water sourced directly from the Estate, this limited-release, triple-distilled gin captures - quite literally - our home in a bottle. 

With alluring notes of myoga ginger, finger limes and honeydew melon, this tipple is the perfect protagonist in a classic gin and tonic, an artful cocktail or simply over ice with a twist of lemon.

Our Gin Process

A collaboration that is a celebration of place, nature, and craftsmanship, that truly embodies the spirit of its origins.

Otahuna has collaborated with Elsewhere Gin to create a meticulously crafted series of triple-distilled gins, using botanicals gathered from the heritage gardens of Otahuna Lodge and pure water drawn from the estate’s pristine springs. Each vintage requires a minimum of 12 months to craft, beginning with its conception, followed by the careful seasonal harvesting of botanicals, and culminating in the final blend. 

Elsewhere Gin is renowned for its dedication to producing handcrafted regional gins, with each batch showcasing the distinctive botanicals of New Zealand’s most remote and unspoiled landscapes.
