A guided tour with Head Gardener Steve Marcham or a member of his team illuminates both the rich history of Otahuna’s 30-acre garden and its continued modern-day restoration. A visit to the many themed areas including the formal Dutch Garden, Great Lawn, and Woodland suggests what domestic life was like on the estate 125 years ago both for the owners and their team of staff. The tour also provides insight into how the productive gardens carry on the tradition of supplying the house with hundreds of varieties of fruits, mushrooms, nuts, vegetables and cut flowers.
